Basically, a battery is made up of following 3 elements.
- BMS
- CELLS
- ENGINEERING
THE BMS OF BATTERY
Exactly bms or pcb is a bit like the brains of the battery. This is where it happens! There are several components, including the processor that controls the temperature sensors and the group of Mosfets that ensure that charging and discharging are done in the right way for the battery. A lithium battery (unless heated) should NEVER charge below freezing. There are different qualities of cells on the market. Index, those who have quality cells brag about it, the others remain silent on this component. It remains difficult as a consumer to validate this information.
THE ENGINEERING OF BATTERY
We just talked about it, construction changes a lot of things. Having access to electronics is essential. We would not buy a computer that does not open, why would we do it for a battery. Some companies use public plastic molds which are bigger, others focus on optimizing space in order to make a more compact battery like the Volthium.
